131 mg/dL Needle Disposal?
So I have a Sharps container ($4.99 at the local drugstore) that is slowly filling up with needles and used Accu-Check strips; where do I dispose of it? As I ask around there are many, many different theories. Duct tape the opening and just toss it in the garbage seems to be the most logical, while being free and easy. Although, I would check with your local Health Department as some towns/cities do have pick up services or allow pharmacies or hospitals to dispose of them. But remember if you're an illegal drug user you can take them to any needle exchange, pharmacy, hospital or local bathroom for safe and free disposal. Go figure.
Today is summed up by my new favorite quote:
Diabetes is like being expected to play the piano with one hand while juggling items with another hand, all while balancing with deftness and dexterity on a tightrope' - Marlene Less, 1983
